An affidavit states that John Connaughton, 51, was upset that the business would not give him a job interview.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A man is facing felony charges after throwing bottles of urine inside a St. Petersburg business, splashing an employee and more than $1,000 in property, according to a Pinellas County affidavit.

The affidavit states that John Connaughton, 51, was upset that the business would not give him a job interview.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement lists Connaughton as a registered sex offender.

The incident happened Friday around 11 a.m. at Doors, Moulding & More, located on 22nd Avenue North, the affidavit states.

The document said Connaughton went to the front of the business and “malicously splashed his urine from within multiple plastic bottles into the business, splattering the victim’s bare legs.”

He then purposely splattered his urine on an estimated more than $1,000 in property, the affidavit states.

Connaughton fled the scene on foot and the victim followed him, the document said.

The suspect then raised a skateboard at the victim “as if to strike the victim with it, causing the victim to fear that the violence was imminent,” the document states.

Connaughton faces felony charges of battery, criminal mischief and aggravated assault, according to the document.
