In an audacious heist this October, over 1,000 treasured artifacts were stolen from a storage facility in Oakland, California, as confirmed by local authorities.

The theft is under investigation by the FBI’s Art Crime Team alongside detectives from the Oakland Police Department. They are working tirelessly to identify the culprits and recover the stolen items, which include intricately carved ivory tusks, Native American jewelry, and rare historical photographs.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of October 15 at the off-site storage location of the Oakland Museum of California. According to police reports, the burglars infiltrated the facility and made off with a significant portion of the museum’s collection.
