Michael B. Jordan confirms he’s on Raya following Lori Harvey split during SNL hosting gig

Michael B. Jordan addressed his dating life while serving as guest host on the newest episode of Saturday Night Live this week.

During his opening monologue, the 35-year-old revealed he’s currently looking for love on the celebrity dating app Raya following split from girlfriend of one-year, Lori Harvey.

Before diving into the details, the Marvel hunk hilariously introduced himself to the audience as ‘Michael B. Hosting. Michael B. Joking. And honestly, Michael B. Nervous. Michael B. Vulnerable.’

The Creed star went on to share a clip of himself at the age of sixteen, in which he appeared in an episode of All My Children, during which he made an over-exaggerated wolf howl while in character.

Jordan then quipped that he was ‘pretty sure I hit puberty mid-howl’ after the clip ended.

The performer began to discuss his breakup from Lori Harvey and expressed that, although many see the period after separations as a time to work on personal fitness, he was already in shape from working on Creed III.

He also stated that whenever people looked up ‘sad Michael Jordan’ during the period of time, they would usually find a photo of the basketball legend with tears in his eyes, much to his amusement.

After he stated that he had joined Raya, several cast members, including Chloe Fineman, Heidi Gardner and Ego Nwodim, began flirting with the actor with the latter of the three proposing both marriage and ‘makeup sex.’ 

The actress was then sent away by openly gay cast member Punkie Johnson, who commented that she would be willing to begin seeing Jordan romantically, stating: ‘Even vegans have cheat days, right?’

The first sketch of the evening saw Fineman and Kenan Thompson portraying a duo of Good Morning Today hosts who welcomed back one of their colleagues after she was ‘stuck on a run away roller coaster going 150 miles an hour for 19 hours straight.’

The colleague in question, who was played by Sarah Sherman, was then shown with her hair permanently blown back and lips blown off.

After trying to take a sip from a glass of wine and having much of it spill on her chest, she commented that her chianti had ‘as many twists and turns as my roller coaster ride from hell.’ 

The hosts went on to introduce their weatherman, who was played by Jordan and also had his hair and lips blown back. Fineman then said that their colleague was also trapped on the rollercoaster.

After he spoke about the dismal winter weather, Jordan’s character joined Sherman’s for a bowl of minestrone soup, much of which fell onto their chins given their lack of lips.

He went on to state that all that he and his colleague had to eat on the rollercoaster were ‘bumblebees, cicadas, and a dog-sized bat’ before they shared a bit of spaghetti in a Lady and the Tramp-esque moment.

Sherman’s character also lifted her shirt to show that a bird had lodged herself into her chest after flying towards her ‘at two hundred miles per hour.’

After the two signed off, the program’s hosts teased an interview with the rollercoaster operator, who was ‘too dumb and too high’ to do anything about the ride malfunctioning.

The second sketch poked fun at Southwest Airlines’ recent slew of flight cancellations, with Gardner portraying an air concierge who recalled that angry and stranded customers ‘understandably screamed at us for days on end.’

Jordan played a floor captain who revealed that the company lost $800 million in revenue and was being ‘investigated by the FAA’ for the companywide failures.

Gardner’s character then began speaking about planned changes to the company’s structure and stated that Southwest would be ‘upgrading our entire computer system to 2008 Dell computers.’

Afterwards, two baggage handlers commented that customers would have to begin color-coding their luggage if they wanted to be reunited with their belongings at their destination.

Gardner’s character subsequently stated that ‘You bought a Southwest ticket. You obviously don’t respect yourself, so why should we?’

The sketch ended after a one-eyed pilot thanked Southwest’s customers, and a company spokesperson debuted the airline’s new slogan: ‘If it’s that important to you, just walk.’

The third segment of the evening took place at a beach resort in the Dominican Republic and began with Kenan Thompson and Marcello Hernandez playing two staff members discussing the plot of Finding Nemo.

When a hotel guest, played by Gardner, went over to ask for a towel, the latter of the two asked her if she was ‘Ellen Demenemes,’and his coworker explained that she was ‘married to the car. The Porsche.’

Another guest, portrayed by Michael Longfellow, explained that he was from New Jersey, to which the workers made jokes about Tony Soprano, cannoli and murder by drowning.

Jordan, playing a senior staff member, went to see the towel station workers and asked if they saw ‘Ellen Demenemes’ as well, much to their amusement.

They then asked if they were being replaced by machines and commented that they could potentially take on other jobs at the resort, including folding toilet paper and circling locations on maps.

When an irate guest, played by Sherman, went to complain about not being given her umbrella, Jordan diffused the situation by faking an inability to speak English.

A pair of guests, portrayed by Fineman and Nwodim, approached the workers to ask for towels, and Hernandez’s character commented that they looked like the old and new versions of The Little Mermaid’s Ariel.

A Southern guest, played by James Austin Johnson, went to get a towel, and the workers compared him to Forrest Gump, or ‘the guy who can’t find Yenny.’

When the workers asked the guest for a tip, he began praying for the workers to be protected from the sun, leading Thompson’s character to quip: ‘I wanted money, papi. Money would be better.’

The two commented that ‘Ellen Demenemes’ likely tipped with actual money, at which point they began dancing and were immediately joined by Jordan’s character.

The fourth sketch of the night was a parody of a State Farm commercial, and when a pair of parents arrived home to see that their daughter had plugged a toilet with stuffed animals, the Creed star stepped in to play the company’s fictional spokesperson, Jake.

After the couple filed a claim, the husband, played by Mikey Day, left home for work, after which the wife offered Jake a cup of coffee, much to her spouse’s concern.

When he returned home later that night, he found Jake playing with his children, and the spokesperson commented that ‘State Farm is here for you 24/7’ and that he already took the family out for pizza.

Day’s character woke up the next morning to find that Jake had taken his wife and children to church, and the spokesperson then slowly began to replace the husband in all aspects of his life.

When the husband begins contemplating a switch to Geico, Jake threateningly dissuaded him from doing so, and when he confronted his wife about the situation, Jake intervened in the marital dispute and encourages him to bundle his home and auto insurance.

Day’s character is later relegated to sleeping on the couch while Jake escorts his wife to a bedroom, and he subsequently contemplated jumping off a bridge, from which he was dissuaded by representatives from Liberty Insurance.

The subsequent sketch saw Jordan and Bowen Yang portraying a duo of voice actors at a recording session for an upcoming entry in the Street Fighter video game franchise.

The vocal director, played by Andrew Dismukes, thanked the participants for their flexibility with the session, and commented that ‘our last actor, Frank, quit due to creative differences and because I slept with his wife.’

When the two are asked to try making sounds that their characters would during a fight, Jordan did his best to sound rugged, while Yang’s character opted for a much more childlike interpretation of the video game series’ protagonist, Ryu.

After being directed on how to sound, the latter of the two began making high-pitched animal noises during a second take, and they voice actors spoke about their personal lives on their third.

After the voice actors were criticized for the misinterpretation of their characters, they began protesting before the vocal director expressed that Yang needed to ‘play it more hetero.’

On a fourth take, the voice actors began pretending to flirt with each other and spoke as if they were speaking on a dating app, much to the vocal director’s consternation.

Frank then entered the studio and prepared to attack the vocal director, but the voice actors began slapping him and making the same high-pitched and humorous noises they did during the sessions before knocking him out.

The sketch ended after video game footage of Ryu and Ken Masters with their new, cartoon-esque voices was shown.

After a break, Lil Baby was introduced by Jordan and began performing with the support of a guitarist, drummer and two pianists.

The rapper enthusiastically dove into a track entitled California Breeze while performing on an impressively lit set.

The Grammy-winning performer rocked a puffy green jacket and a matching pair of pants, both of which were contrasted with a white t-shirt and high-top shoes.

Lil Baby later returned to the stage with a performance of his track Forever, which was released last year.

The songwriter was accompanied by a single pianist while performing his song. 

The hitmaker changed into a black jacket and matching pants for his second time on stage.

The subsequent sketch took place during a ‘male confidence seminar’ being led by an ‘alpha,’ played by Dismukes, who ‘developed a social mastery program’ to teach to awkward men.

A class member announced that he had found a girlfriend utilizing the methods learned in the seminar, although he later confessed that the woman in question is just a barista to whom he has not introduced himself.

Jordan, playing a maintenance worker, is then ridiculed for his occupation by the seminar’s leader, although he later tests the latter’s confidence by pointing out the size of his forehead in front of the whole class.

After the maintenance worker further ridiculed the class leader and stayed in the seminar, they began a roleplay exercise meant to simulate an interaction with a woman, although the former called the seminar’s instructor out for being a ‘b****.’

Jordan’s character continued making fun of the leader’s forehead and angered him after he stated that he has a ‘Jimmy Neutron forehead.’ 

The maintenance worker then asked the class members if they would like to go out to lunch so he could teach them about confidence, and the instructor followed the group out of the seminar, concluding the sketch.

The next segment took place at a rented home in Palm Springs, where four women were enjoying a bachelorette’s trip.

Jordan, costumed as a firefighter and portraying a stripper named Vince, arrived at the residence and began dancing for the group before his pregnant wife Janinaneen showed up and asked if she could charge her phone at the house.

Vince resumed his routine before Janinaneen began dancing along to the music, and she began rubbing her baby bump on the head of one of the guests before he started offering the bride-to-be questionable relationship advice.

The happy couple then started dancing with one another and started awkwardly praying as they moved before Janinaneen stuck her husband’s hose between her legs and shoved it in the face of one of the women.

She commented that the guests received ‘three strippers for the price of one’ before Nwodim’s character quipped: ‘Please stop referring to your fetus as a stripper.’ 

The character’s water then unexpectedly broke, and she and her husband recruited the guests to help her push the baby out on the spot, upon which the segment ended.

The next sketch was centered on a pair of auto salesmen trying to advertise their Toyota dealership.

After the pair enthusiastically spoke about their ‘sale-a-thon,’ they warned prospective customers to stay in a certain lane when heading to their dealership to miss overflow traffic caused by a local Raising Cane’s franchise.

They then commented that they had been ‘screwed by the…Chamber of Commerce,’ who had allowed several fast-food restaurants to be built just off various highway exits, which had killed their business.

The salesmen then introduced the ‘most jacked’ spokesperson Toyota could send, Bryan Patmore, who happened to be played by Jordan.

The spokesperson issued an ultimatum for the Raising Cane’s to leave the area within 24 hours before he revealed every ingredient in their secret sauce, starting with ketchup.

One of the salesmen commented that he had been physically trapped in his dealership due to the long lines and that he had missed numerous family events as a result.

He then expressed that he was ‘getting f’d in the a’ by a councilman from the Chamber of Commerce who had allowed the fast-food restaurants to set up shop in the area before Patmore returned to reveal that pepper was also included in the sauce. 

The final sketch of the evening began with Jordan walking in to Saturday Night Live’s office, during which he had an internal conversation about his confidence regarding his time on the program.

While he walked through the halls, the actor embarrassingly tripped and fell in front of Dismukes, although he tried to play it off in the end.

Jordan kept tripping and falling during his time in the office, and Dismukes witnessed every instance, much to the Fruitvale Station star’s chagrin.

The program’s cast member was then told by Yang and Sherman that he had to either stop seeing the guest host fall over or pretend that he did not see it happen, to which he responded by leaving the program.

Jordan then walked outside of the building where the office was located and began to fall on purpose in an effort to bring Dismukes back before the cast member took his hand and flew off into the night sky.
