Alan Jackson, whose legal acumen has been showcased in cases involving Karen Read and Harvey Weinstein, confirmed his role in defending Nick Reiner. However, he noted that his client would be absent from court proceedings on Tuesday due to unspecified medical issues. Outside the courthouse, Jackson mentioned he was unaware of the specifics of Reiner’s medical condition but assured that Reiner’s court appearance is anticipated by Wednesday.

Jackson’s reputation in the legal world is well-established, having been a prominent figure in Weinstein’s Los Angeles trial and in the Massachusetts trial of Karen Read. His involvement in Read’s case was notably highlighted in an HBO documentary, underscoring his pivotal role in securing her acquittal in the death of her boyfriend.

Jackson is a high-profile lawyer who represented Harvey Weinstein at his Los Angeles trial and Karen Read at her trial in Massachusetts. He was a central figure in the HBO documentary on the Read case. 

Jackson, a partner at the firm Werksman Jackson & Quinn LLP, was lead counsel in Read’s case and secured an acquittal in the death of her boyfriend.

The bio on his firm’s website proclaims that in the Read case, Jackson’s “strategic expertise and courtroom presence were instrumental in securing a not guilty verdict in the high-stakes murder retrial, further cementing his reputation as one of the country’s top criminal defense lawyers.” 

Before going into private practice, Jackson was a prosecutor in the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and secured the murder conviction of music icon Phil Spector.

He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991 and studied law at Pepperdine University.
