The shooting happened just before 11 p.m. Wednesday along Clinch Drive, as the road was blocked off by deputies early Thursday morning.

FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. — One person was hospitalized and one person was detained after a shooting between two individuals in Fernandina Beach just before 11 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting happened along Clinch Drive; the road was blocked off by deputies early Thursday morning until 4 a.m.

In a couple statements, the sheriff’s office said the shooting is classified as “domestic,” and that the person taken to the hospital was airlifted to one in Jacksonville. Robert Grant with the sheriff’s office told First Coast News at 10:20 a.m., “at last check, the victim was in serious but stable condition.”

In a Facebook post, the sheriff’s office said it can confirm that all involved parties “have been identified and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.”

“It is still an active investigation and that is all the information we have at the moment,” the sheriff’s office said in one statement. “We will release more details once they become available.”
