JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — One person is recovering from injuries following an overnight shooting, authorities say.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says this happened just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the area of West Chase Court, where they found a man in his mid-20s suffering from a gunshot to his right leg.
Officers with the Robbery and Violent Crime Unit say the man was walking around the area when an unknown suspect came up and shot at him several times before eventually leaving the scene.
In an interview with detectives, the injured man was not able to describe the suspect.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department transported the man to a nearby hospital, where he is stable and still cooperating with the investigation.
Officers were on the scene early Sunday morning looking for potential witnesses, evidence and surveillance video.
