Police Officer Shot at Easter Event in Lake City Expected to Return Home

Officer Marcus Hardison was set to be released from the hospital Thursday after being shot at an Easter event.

LAKE CITY, Fla. — The Lake City Police Department says the officer who was shot at an Easter celebration Sunday has been released from the hospital. 

Officer Marcus Hardison, who is a K-9 handler, was shot in the right arm when a fight broke out at the event. His K-9 was uninjured. 

He was taken to a nearby trauma center. LCPD told First Coast News he had surgery on that arm Monday and was recovering. He was scheduled to go home at 4 p.m.

The shooter has not been caught at this time. Police released a video of the incident Thursday, asking for help identifying a suspect, though it is unclear if they are the shooter. The video and photo are embedded at the bottom of this story; if you know anything, call 386-752-4343. 

Three people were taken into custody Sunday for interviews. Chief of Police Gerald Butler said they were arrested for unrelated charges.
