WAYCROSS, Ga. — A Waycross man was arrested in Charlotte, North Carolina, Tuesday after police said he shot at a police officer during a car chase in June, the Waycross Police Department announced in a Facebook post Wednesday.
The police department said U.S. Marshals arrested Kamar Anthony Boyd, 20, in Charlotte Tuesday around 1 p.m. Police said he had been hiding there since the incident happened on June 28, 2025.
Boyd’s charges were not released by WPD.
Police did not say where in Waycross the incident occurred, but said on the day it happened, several gunshots were fired at an officer, resulting in their patrol car being hit multiple times.
According to WPD, Boyd is also a suspect in several other felony crimes. The police department said Boyd is expected to face more felony charges.
