In a heartfelt video uploaded to social media, his wife announced that the social media personality passed away “peacefully in his sleep” on October 15.

PEORIA, Ill. — Steve Bridges, a beloved comedian on TikTok celebrated for his relatable skits, has died at the age of 41.

Chelsey Bridges, his wife, shared the news of his passing on Friday through an emotional video on his social media platforms, which collectively boasted over 2 million followers on TikTok and Instagram.

“Steve Bridges passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 15, 2025,” Chelsey said through tears in the video. “I’m truly sorry to have to tell you this in this manner.”

The Peoria Police Department confirmed that officers responded to a call regarding a natural death at a private residence on Wednesday, as reported by TMZ.

Chelsey Bridges described her husband’s death as “totally out of the blue,” noting that he had been feeling well and had been working on his diet and fitness. She said three of his family members died young, including his grandmother at 52, and both his father and grandfather in their 40s.

The couple had been married for 16 years and have three children: a 14-year-old daughter and 10-year-old twin boys.

Steve Bridges built his online following with comedic POV-style videos portraying exaggerated everyday characters, including his popular “deadbeat boyfriend” character, baby daddies and solar panel salesmen. His wife frequently appeared alongside him in the sketches.

“Who you saw online was just the characters that he created,” Chelsey Bridges said. “He was so talented because he was the opposite of all of them.”

She described her husband as “the most attentive father” and “the best husband.”

Eric Mathis, a close friend and filmmaker who worked with Bridges, posted a tribute calling him “an incredible talent beloved by millions of fans across the world.”

“Everyone who had the pleasure, the absolute pleasure of meeting Steve, they all loved him,” Mathis wrote. “He was so kind, so genuine, so passionate about his art, and infectious in his many amazing traits.”

Chelsey Bridges said there will be a private service for her husband.
