Teen Charged by Rocky River Police Following Social Media Post Investigation

A teenage girl from Rocky River, Ohio, has been charged in juvenile court with disorderly conduct following an incident involving an online post that some interpreted as a threat against former President Donald Trump. The situation unfolded after the girl allegedly shared a brief video that included a hip-hop song about Trump, accompanied by the caption “dt you next.”

According to local police, the video was promptly removed shortly after it was uploaded. This post emerged on the same day that conservative activist Charlie Kirk was tragically murdered, adding a layer of tension to the situation.

To provide more context, the Rocky River Police Department has released body camera footage showing an officer discussing the incident with the girl’s mother. The footage highlights the authorities’ approach in handling the delicate situation involving the juvenile.

In related news, Ohio has been mourning the loss of a state trooper, with tributes flooding in to honor his service and sacrifice.

“So obviously it would be considered a general threat on the president,” the officer told the girl’s mother. “It is what it is. Especially with what happened today, it is what it is.”

The teen’s mother told police she had not seen the video. She said she had seen another post.

“She put Charlie Kirk had been shot and then above it, she wrote, ‘making progress,’” the mother said. “That’s what I saw.”

Rocky River investigated the matter and called the Secret Service.

The mother said her daughter is a “very good kid.” She said her daughter has very strong views.

Cuyahoga County prosecutors said the teen had no prior record and her case has been sent to a diversion program.
