The suspect went to an open counter station and handed the teller a note demanding cash, officials said. He is said to have threatened her with a gun.

After the teller complied, FBI officials said the suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and was seen running into a nearby wooded area.

Witnesses described the suspect as a black male in his early 20s, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and of medium build.

At the time of the robbery, he was wearing large, black sunglasses, a blue surgical mask, a gray zip-up hoodie with the hood pulled up, a black dorag, black Nike pants with red and blue stripes down the sides, and white sneakers and gloves.

FBI officials released surveillance photos of the “Big Shades Bandit” in disguise in hopes someone would recognize him.

Crime Stoppers can pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arraignment and/or arrest of the suspect. Information can be reported by phone at 713-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.crime-stoppers.org, or through the Crime Stoppers mobile app. Only tips and calls directly to Crime Stoppers are anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
