(NEXSTAR) – Trader Joe’s is bringing its vaguely nautical vibes to a slew of new cities in the coming months.

The grocery chain currently lists 34 locations under its “Opening Soon” tab, including over half a dozen that appeared since a previous update in July.

Many of the upcoming locations listed on the Trader Joe’s website are slated to open within months, but the newer additions which include stores in California, Connecticut, Washington D.C., Florida, New York, South Carolina and Texas could take between three and six months to open, but my vary widely, according to a timeframe provided by a Trader Joe’s representative.

When an opening date is determined, it gets added “to the store’s local page,” the spokesperson said.

Here’s where Trader Joe’s is currently planning to open its next locations:

Arizona

California

Connecticut

Washington, D.C.

Florida

Georgia

Louisiana

Massachusetts

Missouri

New Jersey

New York

Oklahoma

Oregon

Pennsylvania

South Carolina

Texas

Utah

Virginia

Washington

Information and photos of each location will be updated on the “Announcements” webpage of the Trader Joe’s website. Consumers can also find out whether their closest location will offer beer or wine on the “Opening Soon”  page.

Holding out hope for a new store to open a bit closer to your neighborhood? Executives for Trader Joe’s have previously revealed that new locations are chosen based on several factors, including a town’s population density, customer traffic patterns and parking availability at a proposed site. Scouts also look for potential retail spaces that “feel” like a good fit for Trader Joe’s, marketing executives Tara Miller and Matt Sloan once explained in a 2024 episode of the “Inside Trader Joe’s” podcast.

“We have to look at a huge number of potential sites to make sure that we wind up getting the best site that we can,” Sloan said.
