Chicago shooting: 2 men shot, killed during jewelry store armed robbery on West 26th Street in Little Village, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) — Authorities have released the identities of the two individuals who lost their lives in a tragic shooting during a robbery at a jewelry store in Little Village.

The incident unfolded on Saturday at approximately 5:49 p.m. within a jewelry establishment located on the 3800-block of 26th Street, according to the Chicago police.

Police reports indicate that an armed assailant entered the store, seizing merchandise before making an exit.

Upon leaving the premises, the suspect encountered two men, leading to a confrontation. During the altercation, the assailant fired multiple shots at the victims before escaping southbound on Springfield Avenue in a white SUV, as detailed by the Chicago Police Department.

Tragically, both victims succumbed to their injuries at Mt. Sinai Hospital.

On Monday, they were identified as Faustino Alamo Dominguez, 63, and Luis Alamo, 25, of Berwyn, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner.

Cook County Crime Stoppers on Sunday offering a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest in the double homicide.

A business nearby shared surveillance video of the incident exclusively with ABC7.

No arrests have been made as Chicago police continue to investigate.
