NEW YORK () In a significant move, the Trump administration has unveiled plans to halt over $11 billion worth of projects managed by the Army Corps of Engineers, with a large number situated in states led by Democratic governors.

“The Democrat shutdown has drained the Army Corps of Engineers’ ability to manage billions of dollars in projects,” Russell Vought, director of the Office of Management and Budget, announced on social media. “The Corps will be immediately pausing over $11 billion in lower-priority projects & considering them for cancellation.”

New York stands to lose approximately $7 billion in funding, while Massachusetts could see a $600 million cut intended for the replacement of bridges over the Cape Cod Canal, a vital route for millions of commuters annually.
