Trump Considered as Potential Successor to Gavin Newsom for California Governorship

Popular podcaster Joe Rogan has playfully suggested that President Trump should consider stepping into the role of California’s governor after completing his second presidential term, proposing that Trump could “fix” the state.

In Wednesday’s episode of his podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Rogan criticized California’s handling of the Black Lives Matter protests and subsequent unrest.

“Imagine Donald Trump running for governor of California after his presidency,” Rogan joked with a burst of laughter, joined by his guests, Francis Foster and Konstantin Kasin, the co-hosts of “Trigonometry.”

“He could just take over California and sort it out. It would be absolutely hilarious if an 82-year-old man took the governorship of California,” Rogan chuckled.

Rogan then mimicked Trump, saying: “‘We’re going to fix everything. You’ve got water issues, I’ve got the solution.’ It would be absolutely hilarious,” he added.

Earlier in the show, Rogan said he recently spoke with a friend who is fleeing Los Angeles because he can’t stand the state’s politics anymore.

“It’s like everybody went crazy. It’s like there’s something that happened because of the pandemic and the Black Lives Matter protests and the riots and all the chaos,” Rogan said.

“Whatever the temperature of society was, it hit societal global warming where it’s like – it’s time to investigate Greenland. It’s time to move north, like this is a bad climate now. This sucks.”

Kasin chimed in to agree, saying the weather is so beautiful in California that it feels like “paradise” when you step out of the airport – but politicians like Newsom “f—ed it up so bad that people will literally pack up and leave paradise.”

It’s not the first time Rogan has blasted the lefty state and its leadership. He previously called Newsom a “bulls–t artist” who “ruined” California.

Newsom responded earlier this month by daring “that son of a bitch” Rogan to “invite” him onto an episode of his podcast.

The next California gubernatorial election is in 2026. Trump would not be able to run for the seat until the 2030 election, when he would be 84.
