In a recent operation, the U.S. Coast Guard successfully intercepted a small boat believed to be carrying 11 undocumented migrants off the coast of San Diego, roughly 13 miles northwest of Mission Bay, on Thursday morning.

The operation, according to a Coast Guard press release, occurred at approximately 8 a.m. A boarding team from the Coast Guard Cutter Forrest Rednour stopped the 18-foot panga-style vessel in the waters near San Diego.
