An unhinged man shot his neighbor with a crossbow in Brooklyn early Wednesday morning, cops said.
According to police and sources, Joseph English, aged 64, reportedly approached the victim in the early morning darkness around 4:40 a.m. outside their building on Hanson Place in Fort Greene and made threats.
“I’m going to shoot you,” English coolly warned before firing an arrow at at the 54-year-old man, according to the police sources.
The victim was hit in the left hip.
He was treated at the scene for minor injuries, a police spokesperson said.
Described by sources as “emotionally disturbed,” English was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and menacing following the alarming incident.
Cops described the two men as “strangers” to one another although they lived in the same building.
