Since September 6, no one has managed to hit the jackpot, when a pair of lucky tickets shared a breathtaking $1.8 billion prize.
WASHINGTON — The Powerball jackpot is set to climb to $629 million following Wednesday’s draw, which saw no winners for the $593 million prize. This increase nudges the jackpot closer to entering the lottery’s top 10 biggest prizes of all time.
In New Jersey, one fortunate ticket holder matched all five white balls, earning a $1 million prize, though they missed the Powerball.
The jackpot has been on the rise since the remarkable win in September, when two tickets from Missouri and Texas captured the second-largest Powerball jackpot on record, totaling an astounding $1.8 billion.
This surge in the Powerball jackpot comes on the heels of a dry spell for Mega Millions, which ended when a ticket worth nearly $1 billion was sold in Newnan, Georgia.
