President Joe Biden said Americans are willing to keep paying record-high gas prices for “as long as it takes” to stop the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Biden was asked how long he could expect Americans to keep paying surging gas prices.

“As long as it takes,” Biden responded, “so that Russia cannot in fact defeat Ukraine and move beyond Ukraine.”

“This is a critical, critical position for the world,” the 79-year-old added.

Biden has attempted to blame the record-high gas prices on Vladimir Putin and Russia even though inflation has been booming since before Russia invaded Ukraine.

“Ultimately, the reason why gas prices are up is because of Russia, Russia, Russia. The reason why the food crisis exists is because of Russia – Russia not allowing the grain to get out of Ukraine,” Biden said Thursday.

Republicans have blamed the price surge on Biden’s expensive efforts to advance the Leftist climate change agenda.

“Biden’s back-to-back $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan and $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill helped lead the economy to the highest inflation rates seen in 40 years in America,” the Post Millenial reported.

Under Biden’s leadership, Americans have suffered under record-high gas prices. Currently, according to AAA, the national average for a gallon of gas is $4.86, while it was only $3.12 last June.

These prices may have been lowered if Biden unleashed American energy independence. On day one of Biden’s presidency, he shut down construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.

As National File previously reported, the Keystone pipeline “would have transported roughly 800,000 barrels of crude oil per day from Alberta, Canada, to the Texas Gulf Coast. The pipeline had permits to pass through Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma, with each state’s government approval and support.”

The project would boost Canada and the United States’ economy by creating “tens of thousands of jobs, both on the pipeline and in the support communities those construction jobs would require.”

President Biden has refused to acknowledge the poor economic conditions of the nation right now. Biden believes Americans are enjoying the “strongest economy in the world.”

“I can understand why the American people are frustrated because of inflation. But inflation is higher in almost every other country. We have the strongest economy in the world,” the President told the press Thursday.
