WATCH: MSNBC Race-Hustler Joy Reid's Hate-Filled Rant Totally Misses the Purpose of Thanksgiving

I know — you’re shocked. MSNBC’s Joy Reid, of all people, exploiting the day on which families of all races, ethnicities, and faiths gather across America to celebrate the people and things for which they’re grateful, to launch into a racist rant about the “myth” and “violence” on which America “was founded.”

I jest, of course: pigs will fly and Hell will freeze over before race-baiting Reid allows a holiday or other significant event to pass by — as long as she remains on the air, that is — without characterizing it as “racist,” “violent,” “white supremacist,” and all of the other bitterness she spews on a daily basis to her declining number of viewers.

On cue, Reid on Wednesday night launched into a predictable racist diatribe about all things Thanksgiving and white Americans, past, present, and no doubt future:

Tonight, we begin with Thanksgiving, the day we gather with friends and family to enjoy turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie. We throw on the game, catch up on with lives and discuss or quite possibly argue about religion and politics. For millions of Americans, it’s been a cherished tradition, and as Americans, we value those traditions. But it is also important to unpack the myth of Thanksgiving.

I don’t know about you, but in my book, there’s nothing more entertaining than Joy Reid “unpacking” anything and everything to remind her few viewers how hateful, racist, and violent the United States of America has been from its founding and remains today; in her race-obsessed head, that is.

It is a holiday riddled with historical inaccuracies, built on this myth that the indigenous welcomed their colonizers with open arms and ears of corn. A simplistic fairytale interpretation of a 1621 encounter between indigenous tribes and English settlers that erases the genocide that followed. It is the truth that Republicans want banned from our textbooks because here is the secret they want so desperately to keep: We are a country founded on violence. Our birth was violent.

I won’t waste time recounting the real history of indigenous people, including wars, slavery, and other unsavory realities, because chances are you already know that the real fairytale lives in the minds of Reid and her ilk. This, of course, is not to discount or minimize injustices committed against Native Americans.

Joyless Joy continued:

In 1619, a ship with more than 20 enslaved Africans landed in Virginia, ushering in two centuries of American slavery that left millions in chains dead. With those humans in bondage finally free, a terrorist organization that was a card-carrying member of polite society, the Ku Klux Klan, picked up where the Civil War ended, using violence to maintain White supremacy. The Klan and its ilk are still active and as Americans, we continue to choose violence. We are a country that chooses violence over and over again. There is no facet of American society untouched by it.

The segment included images of the recent Walmart shooting and the Colorado LGBTQ club shooter, but was devoid lof images from the bloody streets of Santa Monica, St. Louis, New Orleans, New York City, and a host of other Democrat-run cities that continue to post record numbers of murders and other violent crimes.

Finally, the melodramatic ending — replete with Reid’s obligatory diatribe against firearms:

How much more bloodshed will we tolerate? How much longer will we cower in fear, looking over our shoulders whenever we are out of our homes? How much longer? And now, look closely, how much longer must our children endure active shooter drills in elementary schools? How many more empty seats at Thanksgiving dinner? There is a way to fix it and possibly end it. Instead, we are trapped in a cycle of gun violence that feels permanent, because an extreme minority that has infiltrated Congress loves guns more than they love people.

Predictable stagecraft behind her, I suspect Ms. Reid and her family on this Thanksgiving are comfortably enjoying their bounties. In the America she so loathes, wealthy Joy Reid enjoys the freedom to do just that.
