A woman who plunged to her death from a building in New York was behaving ‘erratically’ before leaping from a fourth-floor window.

The 23-year-old’s identity is yet to be confirmed but police said she was visiting New York when the tragedy occurred.

She initially stopped by the Bortolami art gallery which occupies the first two floors of the five-story building on Walker Street in Tribeca, sources told the New York Post.

The tourist then made her way to the higher floors, usually only accessible to residents of the building, before throwing herself out of a window on the fourth floor.

She reportedly plunged to her death into the back garden, with the source adding that she was behaving ‘erratic’.
