The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office has apprehended a suspect in connection to a recent bank heist in Yulee, Florida. On Monday afternoon, authorities confirmed the arrest of 66-year-old Marshall Foskey, who is believed to be responsible for the October 10 robbery at First Federal Bank.
According to the sheriff’s office, Foskey allegedly brandished a firearm during the incident, demanding bank employees to collect cash from all available teller drawers. Witness statements indicate that after securing the drawer money, Foskey coerced two staff members into the bank’s vault to further fill his bag with money.
After acquiring the cash, Foskey reportedly exited the vault, locking the victims inside. It was then that the employees activated the alarm, prompting deputies to respond swiftly to the scene.
Through a range of investigative methods, detectives successfully identified Foskey. With collaboration from the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office, Nassau County detectives obtained a warrant, leading to Foskey’s arrest at his residence in Pembroke, Georgia, on October 20. Officials have also noted that a significant portion of the stolen funds has been recovered.
Using various investigative techniques, detectives confirmed Foskey’s identity. With the assistance of the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office, NCSO detectives obtained a warrant and arrested Foskey at his Pembroke, Georgia home on Oct. 20. Most of the stolen money has reportedly been recovered.
According to the sheriff’s office, Foskey has a lengthy criminal history, including multiple felony burglary charges. He is currently being held in Georgia at the Bryan County jail awaiting a probation violation hearing. NCSO says once those proceedings are complete, he will be extradited back to Nassau County to face charges.
“I commend the diligent work of our deputies and detectives whose swift and coordinated response led to the apprehension of the suspect responsible for the bank robbery,” said Sheriff Bill Leeper. “Their professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to public safety ensured this dangerous individual was taken into custody without further incident. This successful outcome reflects the dedication and teamwork that define the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office. This career criminal chose the wrong county to steal from.”
