She was captured in a stunning snapshot with her pals demonstrating in front of the Education Ministry one spring morning. Those vibrant 17 years are the last of her life.

On Saturday, January 21, 1984, Katy leaves the house with a duffel bag to go to a party. She brings her brother Marco with her as they travel to a friend’s house in Largo Descartes.

She is 17 years old, blonde, pretty, and determined; she has already registered for college.

She stayed there for a while before gathering her belongings and departing to meet her friend Angela, with whom she would be spending the night. Katy was running behind schedule, and it would take her an hour to travel there for the meeting.

The two women had planned to meet at Rome’s Lucio Sestio train station.

Here’s Story Of What Happened To Her Body

The coffin for Katy Skerl vanished into thin air. Katy, born in 1967 and passed away unexpectedly and horribly in 1984 at the age of 17, was a victim of a serial killer.

In September 2015, Fassoni Accetti introduced a show to the head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Rome that hinted at a robbery of Katy’s final resting place to cover up an aspect of the Skerl case’s relationship with Orlandi’s.

Skerl’s grave was secretly opened by a fictitious crew of gravediggers, who stole the coffin containing her body’s remains. Her death was connected to a convoluted political conspiracy involving the two ‘kidnappings.

Katty is still one of the three eternal young women who were misplaced over those years in the ominous Rome.

Katy Skerl Death Cause: She Died in Grottaferrata, Rome

In a Grottaferrata vineyard, a young woman was found strangled by a bag’s strap and dead with her spine fractured. On Saturday, January 21, 1984, Katy leaves the house with a duffel bag to go to a party. She brings her brother Marco with her as they travel to a friend’s house in Largo Descartes.

Katy Skerl, also referred to as Caterina, is her name. She is the daughter of Peter Skerl and a student at the Liceo Artistico Giulio Romano in Rome and the Ponte Flaminio branch of the FGCI (the Italian Communist Youth Federation).

Katy disappeared on June 22 of the same year, just as Mirella Gregori and Emanuela Orlandi, a 15-year-old Vatican citizen and the daughter of a pontifical courier. Like Caterina, the latter vanished on a Saturday eight months earlier. However, unlike Katy, their bodies have never been discovered.

Katy Skerl Family

Peter Skerl’s daughter, Katy Skerl, is well recognized. She also has a brother by the name of Marco Skerl.

Peter Skerl, her father, is a Swiss artist with Italian ancestry who works as a director. On The Shame and The Hour of the Wolf, he worked closely behind the camera with Ingmar Bergman. He has absorbed the master’s dark aesthetic by osmosis, which the film industry rejected.

In 1984, he left Rome, and at number 54 in Via Isidoro del Lungo, his ex-wife and their children Marco and Caterina moved in. She goes by the name “Katy” in the family and attends the Liceo Artistico on Via Giulio Romano to further her education.
