After getting COVID-19 earlier this year, he was taken to the hospital. Since February 2022, he has been hospitalized due to a severe covid condition.
His lungs were also severely affected by the Coronavirus, and he was admitted to the hospital. He had tested positive for Covid and got Pneumonia as a result.

Previously, in late March, some news sources released fake reports that he had passed away. However, his spokesperson had clarified that he was in the hospital receiving treatment and assured him that the doctors had said that he would recover.
However, the 75 years old politician could not make it as he took his last breath on April 6, 2022, as reported by Reuters.
