A street vendor who came to the wedding hoping to sell his goods was brutally attacked by the guests in the Pattoki region of Punjab on suspicion of pickpocketing.

The daily wager died on the spot, according to details, and his body was placed on the bridal hall floor while the guests continued to feast and revel.

 

 

After the incident was reported in the media, Punjab’s Chief Minister (CM) took notice.

The hotel manager has been arrested, according to the police, and further investigation is underway.

The event received attention as a video purportedly showing Ashraf’s body near an apparently apathetic audience dining at the wedding went viral on social media, inciting widespread outrage at the callousness on display.

The crime was reported to Punjab Inspector General of Police Rao Sardar Ali Khan, who asked Kasur District Police Officer (DPO) Sohaib Ashraf to arrest the culprits right away.

The Punjab Forensic Science Agency had collected evidence from the scene, and the “actual facts” will be revealed after the final report, according to DPO Ashraf.

Osama Mehmood, a Punjab police spokesperson, claimed that the incident was reported to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and the IGP late at night.

He went on to say that the DPO was leading the investigation and that the needs of justice would be met by examining CCTV video and other evidence to identify the suspects.

According to police, a papad vendor named Ashraf Sultan was killed after being brutally tortured by wedding guests.

 

 

They said the wedding guest earned the daily wager because he was mistaken for a pickpocket.

The papad vendor’s body was left inside the wedding hall as the guests were busy eating, according to police.

The deceased was taken to the hospital for a post-mortem, and the wedding hall manager was arrested.

Punjab Police Inspector General (IG) was alerted to the horrific incident and requested a report from the RPO Sheikhupura.

The culprit was also ordered to be arrested right away by the Punjab police chief. Following the horrible crime, he promised that those responsible will be held accountable.
