Richard Buttrose, Ita Buttrose’s nephew, was apprehended by police in 2019 on suspicion of being a cocaine dealer. Buttrose was apprehended with 1.3 million dollars in cash and a large quantity of cocaine.
Richard was eventually released from prison after serving about nine years. His life before and after incarceration, on the other hand, appears to be drastically different.

While discussing his time in jail, the 49-year-old grew noticeably distraught. He became sad when he revealed that his wife had given birth to his second child just two days after he got imprisoned.

He also claimed that during his fifth year in prison, he received a letter from his wife requesting a divorce. Buttrose’s wife, Pollyanna, was also pregnant with another man’s child at the time.
While in prison, Richard was unable to see his children. As a result, his only contact with them was through handprints and art pieces provided by his wife. The alleged drug dealer only saw his children grow up through photographs.
Finally, during the conversation, Buttrose stated that he did not seek compassion for his difficulties. He wants others to feel sorry for those who have suffered as a result of his incarceration.
