Gaul is a former college football player who is serving a life sentence for the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Emma Walker. She was a 16-year-old Knox County, Tennessee, star student and cheerleader. They had split up a few weeks before he killed her.
Before his arrest, he paid several tributes to Emma on social media. Riley attempted to destroy the evidence after the horrific incident, and some of his friends assisted the authorities in apprehending him.

He and Walker met at Central High School when he was a junior, and she was a freshman. She was a cheerleader at the school’s sports team. The couple soon began dating and had a great relationship initially.
However, things began to change, and they began to argue and fight frequently. Gaul began to become possessive and controlling, and they were intermittent for a long time.

Riley Gaul was only 18 years old when he got arrested in November 2016 for the murder of Emma Walker. Emma was in her bed sleeping on November 21, 2016, when Riley shot and killed her. She was found dead inside her house with a gunshot wound.

Gaul got charged with first-degree murder, reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, stalking, theft, and tampering with the evidence. His trial began in April 2018.
Where Is Riley Gaul Now?
Riley was found guilty and got sentenced to life in prison. He will be 71 years old when he will gain eligibility for parole after 51 years. He is now serving his sentence at a state prison, Northwest Correctional Complex, Lake County, Tennessee, reports Heavy.
Several prosecutors asserted that his sentence should be longer in addition to the first-degree murder conviction. In 2018, Gaul’s sentence was considered long enough, and a judge refused to add extra time to his life sentence.
