Tuesday’s episode took a bizarre turn when Dr. Max Goodwin announced that he and Dr. Helen, who is now in a romantic relationship, are leaving New Amsterdam and shifting to London.
In the first teaser for the episode “Unfinished Business,” Dr. Max brings a still unconscious Helen into the hospital as he suggests to the doctors about her shallow breathing and weak pulse.
Nevertheless, the 17th episode painted a grim picture for Helen; there has been no official announcement of Helen or her portrayer, English actress Freema Agyeman leaving the series.

Moreover, she is famous for playing in the BBC science fiction series Doctor Who (2007-2010) as Martha Jones and in the crime procedural drama Law & Order: Uk (2009-2011) as Alesha Phillips.
Her character Dr. Helen is the main character in New Amsterdam; she is the head of Oncology and also the Deputy Medical Director at New Amsterdam Medical Center.
