On Tuesday, May 24, 2022, City Police charged Avinash Bhosale, a prominent builder and businessman, and four others with deception.
He was accused of buying land in Shivajinagar that was intended for government employees. This is not the first time that well-known businessmen have been involved in these issues.

After a local court ordered the police to file a case, the Chatushringi police filed one under relevant sections of the IPC against Ranjit Mohite, the original owner of the land, Avinash Bhosale, the founder of ABIL Group, his son Amit, and two others.
A group of people went to court and filed a private case, alleging that the land was intended for gazetted officers and that, according to a 1951 government resolution, the land was designated for commercial purposes and could not be transferred to any private person.
“The land in Shivajinagar where the ABIL office is located belonged to Mohite’s grandfather, who was gazetted officer who obtained the land for residential purposes,” claimed Rajesh Bajaj, one of the complainants who attended the court and filed a private case.
