Carol M. Baldwin, the mother of actors Alec, Stephen, Billy, and Daniel Baldwin, as well as the founder of the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund, died at the age of 92.
Carol Newcomb Martineau was born on December 15, 1929, in Syracuse, New York, to Roy and Marion Martineau. She had five sisters: Patricia, Joan, Diane, Louise, and Rebecca, and one brother, Daniel.
On Thursday evening, Alec Baldwin and Daniel Baldwin acknowledged their mother’s death in separate social media posts. “My mother passed today,” Daniel Baldwin captioned a photo on Twitter. Mom, we’ll miss you.”

Baldwin was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1991 and underwent a double mastectomy before deciding to help other cancer survivors.
Her family claims she teamed up with a collection of breast cancer support groups from over Long Island to undertake an initiative with SUNY Stony Brook.
Carol M Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund was established on the Stony Brook campus with the backing of the university’s then-president.
Later, a new chapter was established in collaboration with SUNY Upstate Medical University. The combined efforts, they claim, have raised millions of dollars for the cause.

According to an obituary posted on Instagram by Alec Baldwin, Carol Baldwin passed suddenly on Thursday in Syracuse.
“It is with the deepest regret that my family posts the following statement.” he wrote, “My mother taught me about second acts. And the third ones, too. She had spent the last 25 years of her life as a fighter and a champion for the cause to which she devoted her life. We are all enormously proud of her accomplishments.”
Carol Baldwin’s death cause is still unknown, and details about memorial services will be released soon. Her family members survive her.

Carol Baldwin’s husband, Alexander Rae Baldwin Jr., was a Brooklyn-based history/social studies teacher, football coach, and riflery at Massapequa High School.
The two while they were both students at Syracuse University. Alexander Rae Baldwin Jr. died in 1983 at the age of 55.
Carol is the mother of six children i.e. two daughters, namely Elizabeth “Beth” Baldwin Kuchler and Jane Ann Baldwin Sasso. The name of her four sons is Alec Baldwin, Daniel, William, and Stephen. And, she has 25 grandchildren and was great-grandmother to 14 great-grandchildren.
Her death cause was not stated in the official notice released by her son. In 1991, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. However, there have been no reports of her sickness in recent times.
