Man, 36, Collapsed And Died Few Miles From Finishing Line In London Marathon
Yesterday, a 36-year-old man passed away after falling barely two miles from the London Marathon’s finish line, according to the event’s organizers.
The south-east England-based runner passed out between miles 23 and 24, covering the distance between Monument and Blackfriars in the heart of London.
The participant died at the hospital after obtaining prompt medical attention and ambulance aid within three minutes.
‘With deep sadness, we confirm the loss of a participant in the 2022 TCS London Marathon,’ the TCS London Marathon stated in a statement on Monday in the afternoon.

In spite of receiving quick medical attention and an ambulance arriving on the scene within three minutes after the South East England man, 36, passed away in the hospital. He had fallen between kilometers 23 and 24.

Yesterday, runners were captured crossing Tower Bridge on their route to completing the 26.2-mile London Marathon course.
“Everyone associated in the London Marathon organization would like to offer his family and friends our deepest sympathies.”
According to the family’s request for privacy, no additional information will be disclosed.
“A medical examination will be performed later to determine the cause of death.”
42,000 professional and amateur athletes ran the 26.2-mile race from Greenwich Park to the Mall near Buckingham Palace yesterday.
Numerous thousands of onlookers lined the course to support the athletes as they overcame the difficult terrain.
Amos Kipruto of Kenya won the top men’s race in 2:04:38 on his first outing on the course.
Yalemzerf Yehualaw, a 23-year-old Ethiopian, won the London Marathon in 2:17:25, making her the youngest woman to ever do it.
The TCS London Marathon was held on Sunday, moving it to October for the third time since the Covid-19 outbreak.
The marathon, which annually raises millions of pounds for charity, will take place on April 23 in 2023, according to the organizers.
