The Premier League has a new mega-money star following Manchester City’s swoop for Erling Haaland.
City had been after a new striker for several years, and after triggering Haaland’s £51million release clause at Borussia Dortmund, they have one of the world’s best forwards.
That fee represents something of a bargain given Haaland’s quality but City have made the Norwegian one of the richest players in the league.
The Etihad giants are paying the 21-year-old £375,000-a-week, which means he is one of the top earners in the Premier League.
Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo remains the highest paid player in the English top-flight while Haaland’s teammate Kevin De Bruyne is on £400,000-a-week.
Red Devils goalkeeper David De Gea is also on £375,000-a-week while Jadon Sancho and Mohamed Salah are on £350,000 per week.

After nine goals in his first five league games, Haaland already looks ready to take the Premier League by storm.
He scored three in his first three before two hat-tricks against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest ensured his good start turned into an incredible one.
Pep Guardiola believes he could become a City legend: “Sergio (Aguero) is the legend. Nobody can break the position in the hearts of City fans, scoring the most important goal in modern history.
“Erling has the quality to be there. It’s not about him or Sergio. What Sergio has done is amazing. But Erling has this talent.
“When City bought Erling, everybody talked about what he has done in the past. What we wanted to do is help him. Hopefully, he can enjoy and score more goals.
“What he has done in Norway, Austria and Germany he tries to do here. He’s talented, we knew it.”
Meanwhile, top earner Ronaldo has one year left on his contract but spent the whole summer trying to leave Old Trafford.
However, no suitors came forward, and the Portuguese star will remain in Manchester.
Therefore, he will be the league’s top earner for at least another season.
