Congratulations to Empire stars Tai and Grace Byers who are expecting a child. The celebrity couple shared pictures from Tai’s opening night on Broadway on Friday (Oct. 14).

“Happy Opening Night on your Broadway Debut, my beloved King,” Grace wrote to Tai. “Words absolutely fail when it comes to describing how deeply and overwhelmingly proud we are of you,” the actress added.

Grace uploaded a candid of her and Tai on the red carpet in which she showed off her baby bump. The Empire star cradled her protruding stomach while smiling for the cameras.

“Congratulations @traibyers on OPENING your Bway show,” Teyonah Parris wrote online. “And CONGRATULATIONS to you both on the amazing journey ahead to (sic) parenthood,” she added. “Wonderful,” Kelly McCreary wrote. “So much to celebrate,” she continued. “Congratulations to your family.”

Grace and Tai Byers wed in 2016. The celebrity couple’s love story includes meeting on the set of Empire in 2014 and courting one another for several months before going the way of engagement. Grace wrote a beautiful message to her husband in light of his recent success in The Piano Lesson on Broadway.

“You are the most remarkable artist, talent, husband and man,” Grace wrote to Tai on Friday (Oct. 14). “Watching you make your @thepianolessonplay Broadway debut last night made my heart swell until it burst into a million pieces,” she continued. “My spirit is still soaring, for you are a magnanimous talent that continues to leave me spell-bound and perpetually in awe,” Mrs. Byers said.

“It is so clear to see how God moves, speaks, works and lives through you,” Grace told her husband.

“To share your gifts with the world is a part of this blessing – but it’s the quiet moments: the moments that no one sees of your fervent prayers, your steady discipline, your intentional integrity, your grappling heartbreaks, your genuine joy in uplifting everyone around you, your astounding humility, your unwavering faith and your embrace of being simply, human, that make me most proud of the man that you are. If I could have pieced you together in my wildest imagination, I would have drastically fallen short.”

Tai and Grace Byers are expecting their first child to arrive next year.
