Based on Reeves Wiedeman’s 2018 article “The Haunting of a Dream House,” “The Seeer,” a true crime mystery series on Netflix, tells the true story of a married couple who move into their dream house in Westfield, New Jersey.

But soon, their worst nightmare comes true when a stalker named “The Seeer” starts sending them letters that are rude and threatening.

The Person (2022)

The psychological thriller series “The Patient” on Hulu was made by Joel Fields and Joseph Weisberg. It’s about a sad psychotherapist named Alan Strauss, who just lost his wife and is trying to deal with it. Sam Fortner, one of his patients, turns out to be a serial killer. This makes his pain ten times worse. Sam holds Alan as a hostage so he can get away from his desire to kill people. We all know that there are different kinds of obsessions, some of which are healthy and some of which are not. The show is about the bad side of obsessions that lead people to follow their victims around and make their lives a living hell. Both “Obsession: Dark Desires” and “The Seeer” have themes about following someone and trying to hide who you are.

The Netflix series “You” is a psychological thriller based on Caroline Kepnes’s books “You,” “Hidden Bodies,” and “You Love Me.” It was made by Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble. Like “The Seeer,” “A Friend of the Family” is a true crime drama series on Peacock that follows the Broberg family and their close friend Robert Berchtold. It was made by Nick Antosca. In the 1970s, Robert, who has two faces, kidnaps Jan, who is 12 and belongs to the Broberg family. A few years later, after giving her back to her parents, he takes her again when she is 14 years old. In both “The Seeer” and “A Friend of the Family,” a member of the family knows someone who is bothering and threatening them.

The Netflix show The Seeer is based on a real story

Ryan Murphy’s new thriller series, The Seeer, is based on real-life events that were first written about in The Cut in 2018.

Derek and Maria Broaddus bought 657 Boulevard, a six-bedroom house in New Jersey that was their dream home, in 2014. Before his family moved in, Derek was working on the property and saw a letter addressed to “The New Owner.” The person who wrote the letter signed it “The Seeer” and said they were in charge of keeping an eye on the house. The letter said, “Dear new neighbor at 657 Boulevard, Let me be the first to welcome you to the area.

The real story of The Seee

“My family has talked about 657 Boulevard for decades, and now that it’s getting close to its 110th birthday, I’m in charge of keeping an eye out for its second coming. In the 1920s, my grandfather watched the house, and in the 1960s, it was my father’s turn. Now is my turn. Do you know how long the house has been there? Do you know what happens inside 657 Boulevard? What do you want? I’ll figure it out.”

The letter went on to talk about the family’s children, so Derek went to the police, who told him not to talk about the letter with the family’s new neighbors. Derek and Maria sent an email to the property’s previous owners. They said they had never seen anything like that in the 23 years they had lived there, so Derek threw the letter away.

The family kept getting letters from “The Seeer.” Eventually, the police questioned the family’s neighbor, but he was not a suspect. Derek and Maria then hired their own private investigators. This helped them figure out that The Seeer was an older person who may have been inspired by the movie The Seeer, starring Keanu Reeves.

The investigation ended in 2014, and Derek and Maria put their house up for sale six months after getting the first letter. In the end, they sold the house in 2019 for $400,000 less than what they bought it for.

The Seeer on Netflix is about a family named the Brannocks. They move into a new home in a nice neighborhood, but then they start getting scary letters in the mail. The letters are from someone who calls themselves “The Seeer” and says they are keeping an eye on the Brannocks’ house.

The family did everything they could to sell the house. But they insisted, and buyers were told to read the letters from the Seeer to be honest. They didn’t want anyone else to be in the same situation as them. Even those who were excited about getting a good deal on a nice house were scared away.

The Broaddus then tried to get permission to completely tear down the house and build two new houses on the lot. They couldn’t get the permits, and their relationships with the city council and their neighbors got even worse.
