Whether you’re a nervous flyer or simply get bored, entertaining yourself on a plane has never been easier. Sure, you can read a book. But enjoying a movie or binge-watching a TV show may be one of the best ways to make time go by faster. That said, if your plane has TVs, you usually have to purchase headphones to hear anything — unless you have an AirFly adaptor.

AirFly makes it easy to connect your AirPods or other wireless headphones via Bluetooth. Plug the device into the headphone jack, and AirFly automatically goes into pairing mode. According to the product description, the adaptor has over 20 hours of battery life, but you can still use it as it charges.

Yes, we can download movies and shows from streaming services like Netflix or Apple TV. But the downloads usually kill your phone battery, and without a mount to hold your phone at eye level, watching on your lap or tray table can strain your neck. Personally, I’m taking my new AirFly on my holiday travels.

There are a few different AirFly adaptors. The standard AirFly costs $34.99 on Amazon and lets you connect one set of headphones. The AirFly Duo enables you to connect up to two sets of wireless headphones so that you can watch a show with the person next to you; it costs $44.99. Lastly, there’s the AirFly Pro, which also allows you to connect two sets of wireless headphones and a Receive Mode for sending audio from your phone to a car or speaker. The AirFly Pro costs $54.99.

You can use all three AirFly adaptors with gaming devices like the Nintendo Switch and at the gym to watch screens on treadmills, ellipticals and other cardio equipment.

If you have a trip coming up and want to take advantage of the airline’s free entertainment, getting an AirFly is a must. Your earbuds have much better sound quality — and are usually more comfortable — than any headphones you’ll purchase on the plane. Seriously, once you have an AirFly, you won’t want to travel without it.
