And the Gunners are also keen to hand fresh terms to Aaron Ramsdale despite the goalkeeper only arriving last year.

Mikel Arteta recently revealed how the north London outfit are in talks with Saka, Martinelli and Saliba.

It is understood that Saka is in line to receive a five-year £52million contract at the Emirates worth £200,000-a-week.

Brazilian winger Martinelli is also seeking wages in the same region as Saka having established himself as a key player under Arteta.

The 21-year-old has already stated he wants to commit his long-term future to the Premier League table-toppers.

And according to The Athletic, Arsenal are confident that they will be able to agree new deals for Saka, Saliba and Martinelli.

They have declared that it is a matter of when, and not if, Saka’s new contract is finalised.

As for Saliba, it has been said that his current contract expires at the end of the season, but Arsenal have the option to extend until the following year.

Martinelli – like Saka – will become a free agent in 2024, but the Gunners can trigger a two-year extension in his deal.

However Arsenal are in negotiations with the youngster to offer him a pay rise to reflect his importance in the side.

And the club know that they do not want to hurt their relationship with Martinelli and his team by keeping him at his same salary.

Looking ahead to the future, Ramsdale is another that is in line for a new deal with the England international the club’s undisputed No.1.

It has been said that there is an acknowledgment from all sides that the ex-Sheffield United shot-stopper needs a salary in line with a top-six goalkeeper.

Talks, though, are yet to take place with the 24-year-old.

Arsenal are happy to pay big wages once again having offloaded the likes of Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

But they know they must be competing in the Champions League if they are to offer Champions League salaries.

And with the club sitting pretty at the top of the table after ten games, the club are hopeful of returning to the European Cup for the first time since 2017.
