Cristiano Ronaldo and Tyrone Mings engaged in physical contact on the field during Aston Villa’s 3-1 victory over Manchester United on Sunday.
The two got into a physical argument just before the hour mark after a United attack, where a regular jockeying for the position turned into a wrestling match on the penalty spot.
The two were eventually separated by players from both teams after receiving a yellow card each. Red cards were examined by the VAR, but nothing was done.

The game was immediately stopped by referee Anthony Taylor, and a VAR review was conducted for the incident, but no red card was necessary. However, Ronaldo received a yellow card for his behavior.
The final score was 1-3 in favor of Manchester United, and Unai Emery won his first game in charge of Aston Villa.

Alejandro Garnacho, a young player for United, brought the ball forward on the right as Aston Villa lead 3-1 as players fought for the best position in the penalty areas prior to a potential cross.
Ronaldo and Mings both appeared to be holding onto each other tightly and not letting go.

The players continued to grapple while concentrating on one another after the ball was out of play. Ronaldo was still attached to Mings when he eventually collapsed.

Mings and Ronaldo got into a fight, which left both players on the ground before they were taken apart.
Lucas Digne and Douglas Luiz were the first players to come to assist with separate situations prior to a violent altercation starting that led in a scrum of players getting run over.
After the altercation had calmed down as a result of a VAR review, referee Anthony Taylor showed the players a red card instead of a yellow one.
Villa defeated United 3-1 in their first match under new manager Unai Emery, who took over for Steven Gerrard. This was United’s first league loss in six games.

The encounter marked the Midlands club’s debut under new Villa manager Unai Emery.
The Midlands team immediately established a 2-0 lead thanks to strikes from Leon Bailey and Lucas Digne. However, just before halftime, an own goal by Jacob Ramsey reduced the lead by half.
However, Ramsey made it 3-1 early in the second half, and Villa ended the game to earn the crucial three points.
Despite declaring his intention to leave the squad and igniting debate by forgoing the use of a substitute during the team’s victory over Tottenham in October, Ronaldo managed United.
