Brazilian singer Gal Costa passed away at her Sao Paulo home on Wednesday. She was 77 years old at the time of her death.

Born on September 24, 1945, Salvador Gal Costa was born to Arnaldo and Mariah.
She was exposed to music even before her birth when her mother would listen to music during her pregnancy in hopes that her daughter would be interested in music.
She made her debut at Nos, por exemplo and made her first professional recording in 1965. She released her first album, Domingo, in 1967 and released various songs and albums for 60 years. She performed and sang with famous Brazil singers, including Caetano Veloso, Tom Jobim, Chico Buarque, and Milton Nascimento.
Some of her hit son’s are Baby, Que Pena, and many more. In 2011 she received the Latin Grammy lifetime achievement award.

On November 9, she passed away at the age of 77. She had her next schedule on December 17 in Sao Paulo. She was survived by her 17-year-old adopted son Gabriel.
