1 Loose Dog Kills Puppy & Other Animal Complaints

Two reports of dog attacks on Saturday Afternoon.

At 1:51 pm, a caller from Essman Sugar Camp Road complained a neighbor’s dog came onto her property and attacked her dog. She said it was an ongoing issue.

Officers went to the neighbor’s house to speak to them about the incident. Police learned that neither party kept their dog contained. The officers advised them both to keep their animals contained.

Around the same time, a Bennett Street caller reported a neighbor’s dog came onto his property and killed his puppy. He said this was not the first time the dog had attacked a neighbor’s dog.

Officer responded to a PHMA property on Born Blvd after a caller said a person who had previously been barred from the property had shown up and was now arguing with people about not picking up their dog poop. Officers advised everyone to calm down.

Just after 4 pm, a Carey’s Run -Pond Creek Road resident complained their neighbor’s dog had killed some of their chickens. They didn’t want to press charges, but they did want officers to speak with the neighbor.

The dog owner explained that their dogs were contained but had managed to snap the chain. Officers advised finding a stronger chain or getting a fence. The neighbor also said they had purchased a fence to install. Officers advised them the dog warden would respond if it happened again.

2 Vicious Dog Goes After Kids on Winchester Avenue

Just after 3 pm, a Winchester Avenue neighbor reported that a loose, vicious dog had corner children in their yard.

When officers arrived on the scene, they learned the dogs belonged at a nearby home. An animal control officer also responded to the scene and said she would be back in the morning to cite the dog’s owner for not keeping it contained.

Someone from the dog’s home started an argument with the woman who reported the incident in front of officers. The man said he was leaving to find someone else.

Officers advised him that if he bothered the neighbor, he would be arrested.
