Melissa Cole Biography
Melissa Cole is an American Emmy-nominated journalist currently working as a reporter and Meteorologist at WFSB. Prior to her current position, she worked as a reporter at WHP based in Harrisburg. Cole studied at West Hartford Ct and later graduated from Villanova University with a bachelor’s degree in both journalism and meteorological studies.
She got obsessed with the weather later after Hurricane Gloria and says that she remembers a giant tree being uprooted in front of her home when she was in grade 4 at West Hartford. From there, she has been up as much as weather details ultimately studying meteorology. Prior to joining WFSB in 2003, she served at WIVT in Binghamton NY, and WHP in Harrisburg.
She began her career as a weekend meteorologist and now lends an extra hand during severe weather events. Her work is highly recognized and she even got an Emmy nomination for the Better Connecticut show. Recently, she received a nomination for a story on Pediatric Cancer Awareness.
