Beautician Elle Edwards was shot and killed in a bar on Christmas Eve, and her father, who is also a beautician, has spoken of his sadness at losing his ‘beautiful and kind’ daughter.
Tim Edwards paid tribute to his 26-year-old daughter, who he described as having “a heart of gold,” and said the horrific incident “should never have happened.”
“I’m simply pleased I had the time with her that I did,” he continued.
The grieving father issued a stark warning about the risks of gun violence in his first interview since she passed away, adding, “Do not pick up that gun, because the minute you do your life is over.”

Just before Christmas Day, Ms. Edwards was fatally shot in the Lighthouse pub in Wallasey Village, Wirral.
She is not thought to have been the attack’s intended target, which also injured four men.
A 22-year-old guy has been detained and accused of using a submachine gun to kill Ms. Edwards.
On Monday, Connor Chapman appeared via videolink at Liverpool Crown Court where he was accused of nine offences, including murder. In June, he is scheduled to go on trial.
Prior to Ms. Edwards’ funeral the following week, her father described her as a “lovely and compassionate” person and expressed his regret that he would no longer be able to celebrate Christmas.
She was the kind of girl who would walk into a room and draw attention because she was always smiling, he told Sky News.
She hugged well and had a lovely appearance. She was simply a wonderful person with a golden heart.
There are no winners in gun violence, he continued. Your future and everyone else’s around you are over if you pick up a gun. It’s incredibly easy. It solves nothing and has no purpose at all.

Chapman’s trial has been scheduled for June 7, and it is anticipated that the trial will last three to four weeks.
Additionally, he faces three counts of wounding with the purpose to cause great bodily harm against Harry Loughran, Nicholas Speed, and Liam Carr, as well as charges of attempted murder against Jake Duffy and Kieran Salkeld.
The suspect is also charged with possessing a Scorpion submachine gun and ammunition with intent to endanger life on Christmas Eve and handling stolen goods, a Mercedes A class vehicle, between December 22 and Boxing Day.
