Who Was Kuldip Singh Dhillon? Meet His Wife And Children

Property developer, polo player, and official Kuldip Singh Dhillon (born 1950), also known by the anglicized first name “Kolin,” is a British Indian. He is the Cirencester Park Polo Club’s chairman.

When Dhillon was four years old, his family left India for Britain. He initially resided in Warrington, where his father had several market stalls. It was here that he first met his wife, Jacqueline, at a nearby disco. Before relocating to Gloucestershire, where they have since lived, the couple started a family.

He made acquainted with Camilla Parker Bowles when they first met in the early 1970s. Mrs. Parker Bowles (as she was known at the time) and her husband Andrew Parker Bowles, who shared their wife’s passion for polo, frequently dined at Dhillon’s Gloucestershire residence or entertained the affluent real estate developer at their Wiltshire house.

Dhillon joined Cirencester Park Polo Club in 1975, and according to his own account, it was while competing against members of the Royal Family that he earned the moniker “Sooty.”

He has two daughters and two sons, the younger of whom, Satnam, in addition to helping his father run his property empire, is also a former player for the English national polo team.

The firm’s main offices are in Cheltenham.

Dhillon is a former chairman of the Schools and Universities Polo Association and a director and player at Cirencester Park

Kuldip Singh Dhillon Death Cause

An Indian-born polo-playing friend of the King who was ‘happy’ to be called ‘Sooty’ by friends including the royals has died suddenly aged 72 at a family wedding in the country of his birth, MailOnline can reveal today.

Kuldip Singh Dhillon found himself at the center of a row after it emerged that the then Prince Charles and others at Cirencester Park Polo Club used the nickname considered racist by many.

His controversial nickname, which Mr. Dhillon insisted he ‘enjoyed’, emerged in the press in 2009, shortly after it was revealed that Prince Harry had called an Army colleague ‘our little P**i friend’.

The property developer, who owns a large estate in the Gloucestershire countryside, died in India this week, it is understood, but had reportedly been in good health.

Neighbors confirmed to MailOnline that he had passed away suddenly but his English-born wife Jacqueline and their four children are yet to comment. Mrs. Dhillon is understood to have been in India with her husband.

Simon Cox, the manager of his Gloucestershire farm covering 100 acres, said: “We still find it hard to accept.” He was a healthy man with no known health issues. It really shocks me.

Mr. Dhillon passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday while visiting India with his wife Jacqueline for a family wedding. Professional polo player Satnam, his son, has flown to be with his distraught mother.

He managed to travel over to be with his mother, according to the estate’s gardener. She must have felt really terrible. Within hours of the event, we received a call informing us that Mr. Dhillon had passed away. He just left, as far as we are aware. Nobody really believes it.
