Is the highly anticipated Real Housewives of New York City: Legacy dead upon arrival?

According to reports, Bravo has pulled the plug on the RHONY spinoff before filming even began after contract negotiations with the cast stalled over salary demands.

Per Page Six, an email was sent to the cast, which is speculated to consist of Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan, Jill Zarin, Kelly Bensimon, and Luann de Lesseps, around 6 p.m. on Monday evening. The email rescinded their contract offers and consequently shelved the show.

Sources close to production told the outlet that Bravo finally realized that Legacy wasn’t “worth it” after the cast declined the network’s “generous” offers. They felt like they weren’t being paid their full value nor securing the number of guaranteed episodes they believed were warranted.

One source told the outlet, “Never say never,” to the show being revisited in the future, but for now, no plans to bring the show to air are currently planned.

But wait for it.

Just as the news broke of Legacy collapsing, executive producer Andy Cohen tweeted out a seemingly contradictory tweet disputing the validity of recent reports.

“Don’t believe everything you read #RHONYLegacy,” he cryptically posted.

Fans are now left wondering where exactly the series stands. They flooded the interwebs with questions and thoughts.

“So, is it not happening or what? Because we would like to know,” one fan commented.

Another shadily quipped, “I don’t trust Andy. He continually overpromises and underdelivers…”

A third took the opportunity to throw in some snark aimed at The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, saying, “Said the [man] who always says, ‘best season ever, just wait.’ And then season three of RHOSLC happens.”

ET reporter Brice Sanders also chimed in as he tweeted, “A source tells me the show is (*cue Dorinda voice*) “on pause” for now, but noted “in the Bravo world, nothing is ever dead.”

After a dismal season 13, Bravo chose to massively overhaul the RHONY franchise. They announced that the second longest-running Housewife iteration would be split into two shows: The Real Housewives of New York City with an all-new cast and the Legacy spinoff.

Bravo has yet to officially make an announcement regarding the alleged cancellation of Legacy.
