A Florida high school principal has been arrested after he was caught on camera keying a person’s car in a supermarket parking lot
Nathanial Fancher, principal of St. Cloud High School, faces a criminal mischief charge and has been placed on administrative leave, WOFL reported.
A charging affidavit says that police were called to a Public in St. Cloud on January 26 by a victim who reported their car was keyed while they were inside the store. The store manager provided surveillance footage that showed the suspect doing the deed.
After identifying Fancher as the suspect, police got him on they phone. “Is this about the car?” he asked, and then asked if he was under arrest when they told him it was.
Fancher said he as in New York and would be back on January 31. On that date, Fancher called police and asked to contact the victim and pay for the damage in order to avoid being arrested and having a mug shot taken.
Police said the damage to the vehicle was $3,700.
Afterward, Fancher contacted the school resource officer at his high school and admitted keying the car. “How much trouble am I in?” he asked.

Police responded and interviewed him, then arrested him on a criminal mischief charge.
The school district sent a message to parents about the arrest.
Police did not say why Fancher keyed the car, and he bonded out of jail Tuesday evening.
