Louise Redknapp wows in a purple costume as she prepares to take the stage in Grease The Musical

Louise Redknapp wowed in an eye catching purple costume on Thursday as she gave Instagram followers the first look of her new character in Grease The Musical. 

The singer, 48, who will portray a ‘sassy’ Teen Angel, looked sensational in her winged costume as she prepares to take the stage at the Dominion Theatre in June. 

She put on a leggy display in a silk purple blazer dress which boasted a plunging silver collar neckline and matching cuff sleeves. 

Louise added inches to her frame in a pair of bold silver glittering thigh-high boots and rocked a pair of large purple wings with the costume.

The mother-of-two styled her long golden locks in a high ponytail with a strand of pink highlighted through it.

She accessorised with a pair of large hoop earrings and layered several silver necklaces to complete the look.

Revealing her character, Louise penned: ‘Meet… Teen Angel!

She said she is putting her own spin on the originally male role of Teen Angel which she revealed will be ‘sassy’. 

Speaking on Steph’s Packed Lunch earlier this year, Louise said: ‘I’m doing Grease and my mum was like: ‘You’ll make a lovely Sandy’, I was like, ‘Mum Sandy is at high school, I’m not playing her.’

‘Teen angel has always been played by a guy, I thought it was interesting how different roles are coming up and different opportunities. 

‘I’m going to play it like a JLO in Vegas as sassy as you can get!’

Speaking about her upcoming gig, she also told MailOnline: ‘Doing Grease is so fun. I’m going to proper camp it up. I love how they are breaking from tradition and having a woman play the role of Teen Angel.

‘Now I can do this stuff because my boys are older so I don’t feel bad about leaving them. I’m so excited for this year. 

‘I’m going to have the most fun and work hard and then in the summer I’m going to take the boys away.’

The singer is a mother to sons Charley, 18, and Beau, 14, who she shares with ex-husband Jamie Redknapp, 49.

Louise, who found fame as a member of girl group Eternal, will also release her Greatest Hits album in June.
