Did CM Punk want to get fired from AEW?

CM Punk is the man of the moment as he is the talk of the town in the pro-wrestling world. So, it is speculated that CM Punk wanted to get fired from AEW. But the answer is simple no. These all things were getting speculated because of CM Punk getting spotted at WWE RAW backstage.

The All Elite Wrestling (AEW) wrestler was observed backstage at WWE Raw on Monday, according to PWInsider Elite (via Wrestling Inc.). While Punk was on the same plane as other WWE talent and employees, his return to WWE is not imminent.

CM Punk was returning to his hometown, which is also in the Chicago region, for WWE Raw. After communicating with WWE staff and finding that the event will be place in Chicago, Punk decided to attend WWE Raw. He waited for around 20 minutes in the common area.

As news of CM Punk’s return to AEW spread, other reports surfaced of a supposed meeting between Punk and fellow AEW star, and nemesis, Chris Jericho, with AEW owner Tony Khan and FTR also in attendance. No one knew when or where this meeting would take place until it was disclosed that it had already taken place.

CM Punk meets Chris Jericho ahead of his AEW return

According to Fightful Select, the meeting between Punk and Jericho took place last week, while Wade Keller verified the meeting took place on Friday in Tampa Bay, Florida, only days before Punk appeared backstage at “WWE Raw.” The encounter was viewed as “unremarkable,” given the enmity between Punk and Jericho building up to it, while some felt it went well.

Overall, it was agreed that things went well enough that Punk and Jericho might be open to working together once Punk returns to television, though it was noted that things could easily go wrong. While most of the focus has been on Punk’s issues with The Elite, with whom he allegedly brawled following AEW All Out last September, there has also been tension between Jericho and Punk, with the former reportedly opposed to Punk’s return and Punk referring to Jericho as a “stooge” in a now-deleted Instagram post.

For the time being, Punk looks to have settled at least one real-life conflict in preparation for his rumored comeback on June 17 at the United Centre for AEW’s anticipated new Saturday TV series. As of this writing, it is uncertain if a similar meeting would be attempted between Punk and the Elite, while it was claimed last week that Punk had been ordered not to contact them at some point in the past.
