She also said she flew back from London to CNN’s New York headquarters to confront Licht over his decision to allow Orange Man Bad on the air and that the conversation was “robust.” While other CNN personalities such as Anderson Cooper, Oliver Darcy, and Jake Tapper also cried leftist tears over the event, Amanpour’s speech was probably the most high-profile critique.

Not only have none of these folks experienced any consequences for publicly ripping their own network and their boss, but they’re actually ramping up their efforts by promoting and praising Amanpour’s angry address. Darcy wrote an article praising Amanpour’s rant and claimed that “Inside CNN, Amanpour is far from alone in her views. In private, the town hall has been widely criticized by employees at all levels across the organization.”

It’s been a rough couple of years for “the most trusted name in news,” as their ratings are in the toilet, they’ve fired hacks like Don Lemon, Brian Stelter, and Chris Cuomo, and lost their leader Jeff Zucker to a sex scandal. While Chris Licht was brought on to right the ship, nothing has gone well for him and now he has an open rebellion on his hands.

Since apparently, employees at CNN are able to trash their own company and its CEO with no repercussions, it’s clear that the inmates are running the asylum.
