Lil Uzi Vert has finally opened up about using they/them pronouns and identifying as gender nonconforming. A cover story interview with The Pink Tape rapper was published in fashion magazine 032c on Tuesday (May 30). During the Q&A, Uzi explains why he chose gender nonconformity last July when he updated their pronouns on Instagram. Lil Uzi Vert replied that he never hesitated to make the move when asked if they were hesitant. Lil Uzi Vert dismissed the idea that the move was brave. According to Lil Uzi Vert, Americans are slowly adjusting to the way they see things. Uzi added that America is slowly making progress.

As part of the Q&A, Uzi explains why the rapper chose gender nonconformity last July when they updated their pronouns on Instagram. In response to a question about whether they hesitated to move, Lil Uzi Vert said, “I never did.”. Before I was able to proceed, I took the time to learn as much as I could about this. A big part of living is discovering who you are. Whether you’re here with it, there with it, or both, you’re no longer alone. In this community, you have access to a kind of support you may not have had previously because you weren’t raised in that way. The notion of being ‘non’ is not okay in my household. In response, the rapper mocked the notion that the move was brave. According to the “Just Wanna Rock” rapper, bravery only has a ten per cent chance of surviving. Honestly, I’m not brave at all.
