GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Patrick Francis Pelletier, 22, was arrested yesterday morning and charged with felony battery, burglary with battery, property damage, and marijuana possession after allegedly pushing a friend into a broken window, causing the victim to be trauma-alerted to the hospital.
Pelletier was reportedly hanging out and drinking at a friend’s apartment on Sunday night when he became belligerent and was asked to leave. He allegedly threw several liquor bottles inside the residence before leaving.
A short time later, Pelletier reportedly returned and started banging on the door, asking his friends to let him back in. He then allegedly broke a window, at which point one of the residents opened the door and told him he really needed to leave. Pelletier allegedly forced his way into the apartment and started punching the victim. During the struggle, Pelletier allegedly tackled the victim into the broken window, resulting in a severe laceration on the victim’s elbow; the victim was trauma-alerted to the hospital.

Post Miranda, Pelletier reportedly said he was jumped and was defending himself. He reportedly admitted breaking the window and said he was sorry he hurt his friend.
A search incident to arrest reportedly produced about 5 grams of marijuana.
Pelletier has no criminal history; Judge Thomas Jaworski set bail at $72,000.
