Paul Gosar Anime Video Explained

Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) stirred outrage on Sunday when he released an edited anime movie depicting him swinging swords at President Joe Biden and murdering Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.).

The lawmaker, who has been associated with white nationalist and other extremist groups, tweeted the opening videos of the Japanese animated series “Attack on Titan,” but changed the main character to himself and changed the show’s title in Japanese to “Attack on Immigrants.”

The Video shows, Gosar fighting Lauren Boebert (R-Ga.) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Colo.). Ocasio-face Cortez’s is overlaid on one of the Titans in one scenario.

Gosar kills it by slashing its throat. Similarly, in another scenario, Gosar wields two swords at an adversary with Biden’s face pasted onto it.

The footage is intercut with actual footage of US Border Patrol personnel apprehending migrants at the US-Mexico border. Along with blood-splatter effects, the phrases “drugs,” “crime,” “poor,” “money,” “gangs,” violence,” and “trafficking” flashed over the screen.

Is He Sick With An Illness? What Is Wrong With Him?

With his Sunday tweet, Gosar was criticized online for appearing to promote violence.

Everyone is taken aback by Gosa’s behavior. People suspect him to be mentally ill. However, he appears to have a nerve condition, which some have speculated is Parkinson’s disease.

But he has not said anything and kept a secret about his sickness and health condition.

Ocasio-Cortez responded with a Twitter thread highlighting his white nationalist affiliations and criticizing House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) for failing to rein him in.

In support of Gosar, his digital director, Jessica Lycos, said The Washington Post that they just made a fun animated video, which is not a crime, and everybody needs to calm down.

She says that folks who don’t get the simple fun animation are depressed and don’t represent the future.

This is about standing up for the truth,” she told the Washington Post.
